I have a new painting on ebay. She is a lovely fairy sitting in a bunch of Forget-Me-Nots It's called "Starlight and Forget-Me-Nots."

Shes up of a ten day auction starting tonight. I had a lot of fun painting her. I also submitted her to the www.EQSB.com monthly flower show. This months flower being the Forget-Me-Not.

I am still working on my new piece which doesn't have a title yet. But its a close up of a cut fairy but I suspect see could become a dark fairy. Maybe Dark Fairy #3...depends on where it take me and what kind of mood I'm in while painting it. Right now I am still sketching it.

I did get to go to the art store today. One of my favorite places. Wow I got some great prices on inking pens. I got a set that is usually $54.00 that was on sale for $5. I had wanted to buy a set for quite a while but didn't want to pay so much. I also picked up a canvas for an acrylic painting. I have not tried to paint in acrylic since high school. It's actually the first type of paint I used when I was about 16 but when I went to art school they generally wanted us to use oil paint. I got sick of using that because of the smell and chemicals in the paint and later switched to watercolor. Its still my favorite kind of paint but I would like to do a small acrylic, just for fun and to see if its as hard as I remember.

Well spring has sprung here in Newfoundland and the snow is almost gone. We had so much this year I didn't think we would ever dig out. The days are finely starting to get longer. I hated when it was getting dark around 4:30- it was completely dark when I was coming home from work. Now its light until about 6:00.

I have been working on a new piece forever. Its turning out really great but I just cant seen to get it completed. I keep adding more and more highlights and details. I was hoping to have it finished this past weekend but after many hours of work its still not done. I'd say its 99% with just the finishing touches to be added. Hopefully this weekend I will complete it- maybe even sooner if I can get a few evenings in this week. I'm just so tried when I get home from work most days.

In other news... I say a few movies recently. V or vendetta - Ok I really didn't like this movie. The hero was just too unlikable. I also saw Ice-age 2 this past weekend and enjoyed it very much. I'm really looking forward to X-men 3 I loved the last one.

I am reading "The Face" by Dean Koontz." Not bad...I'm about 3/4 way through it and plan on getting some reading in tonight. I want to pick up "The Wounded Hawk" by Sara Douglas next. She is one of my favorite fantasy authors. I say it at a bookstore this weekend but resisted buying it because I want to finish "The Face" first. I have been waiting for this (Wounded Hawk) to come out in paperback for a while. I enjoyed the first part and want to find out what has happened to all those great charters. I just love books, in fact I need a new bookcase to house my evergrowing collection.

I'm so bad. I have not updated in such a long time. Anyway I do finely have something new for you. It's called Immortal - and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. It's a male and female vampire couple. This the the first male I have painted in a long time, but I like the way he turned out. I have prints for sale on my site www.paperfairy.net and the original is also availible for $150.00.

I have started working on something completely different for my next piece. Pretty soft colors with a happy fairy princess and her cute dragon friend. A very happy peice... I'm thinking of soft colors.... blues and pinks.

Happy Halloween!

We carved our Pumpkin last night. We carved it like Jack form The Nightmare Before Christmas. It turned out pretty good. I love halloween! I did take some pictures but my boyfriend uploaded them and I cant find them on the computer. So I will have to post one later.

Oh. I have been doing a lot of painting recently but it has been some nonfantasy work that I have been putting off for a long time. Now that I have it done I can get back to some of my real work. I did paint a lovely Mermaid last week but someone (i will name no names) spilled something on it when it was almost done. So I have to start it again but before I get back to it I want to do something gothic. Not sure what yet.

Tonight I am starting a new vampire! I'm starting to get in a halloween mood. I might do a few gothic paintings in a row. I really enjoyed doing Midnight Magic. I might do a voodoo piece after. We'll see.

Working on a painting of a witch tonight. Its going really well. The drawing took forever. It has a lot of detail and I had to do a lot of masking. Right now I have the sky and some of the clothing done. I have to finish the 30+ butterflies!!! They are another reason it took so long to draw. However the painting is going much faster then the drawing did. I should have it finished over the weekend, scanned by monday and up on ebay by monday night. I also have to do some updating on my website. Just a few things I think could be better. I am also going to try to update my this journal more. TTYL Linette

Well I spent all week on a painting of a girl laying in a field of roses only to ruin it while working on the skin tones... Oh I'm just going to move on...I have a drawing of a fairy I want to paint so I think I will do that next.
